You have probably heard the parable of the built houses from the Bible.

One being built on sand and easily washed away, another built on rock that stood firm. Like those houses, we can hear the instruction of the Lord, but do we just listen, and not follow up, like the one built on sand? Or do we take that instruction, and build upon it, using God’s direction to put into action, like the house built upon rock?

Do we build our faith to withstand the storms of life? It is easy to stay firm when the waters are calm and cool, but do we fall apart at the first sight of a ripple in the waters? We are forewarned that there will be trials ahead of us. We may not want to hear that, but we are being told so that we can get prepared for battle. Now is the time to take God’s Word and get it deep inside of you, memorize it, instill it into your mind so that it may manifest into your life.

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. Behold, I have told you beforehand. If therefore they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the wilderness; go not forth: Behold, he is in the inner chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh forth from the east, and is seen even unto the west; so shall be the coming of the Son of man.”

Matthew 24:24-27

Everybody falls in this world. Don’t let guilt or discouragement keep you from getting back up again. The Devil will use your mistakes to try to keep you down. He wants you to stay there. But God tells us that we have been “given authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.”

The Devil is always looking at a way to get into our mind, our life. Planting lies, doubt, and constantly trying to get a foothold. It can be exhausting and if you don’t rely on God, you will not make it.

God reminds us to ”Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.“

Talk to God, not just once in a while, or when you need something, but on a constant basis. Being a Christian is not a religion, it’s a relationship. And relationships are not one sided, you both have to participate. So show up for God.

“Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roarng lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour"

1 Peter 5:8 NKJV

If you struggle with anxiety, you know some days are better than others. And sometimes, you have a lot of those days. Those days where you tell yourself just one day at a time. How about one hour at a time? Sometimes, my anxiety can spiral out of the most senseless things. Why do I start focusing even more on my problems when my anxiety sets in? I know I have to make my own choices to get me through each day, do I to think on thoughts from God or thoughts from Satan?  If you’re having one of those days, make sure you are seeking professional help. It does help and God gave us doctors in this broken world, to help us. We wouldn’t think twice about going to a doctor for a check up or a medical emergency, then why do we think twice about getting mental healthcare? Why, as a Christian, has this become such a taboo? Personally, I think Satan also uses this as a tool to try and make us think we aren’t Christian if we have a mental disorder or crisis. This is ridiculous. We are Christians if we have accepted Jesus Christ into our hearts. We may have issues, we may fail(a lot), but we get back up and keep following Christ. Whatever you do, don’t stop seeking God. He knows your faults, issues and thoughts. There are no surprises to Him, He is just waiting for you to accept Him.

“Seeing it is God, that said, Light shall shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”

2 Corinthians 4:6
