What Keeps You Up At Night?

We’ve all had restless nights, worrying about work, finances, school, kids, spouses, etc. I know I’ve had more than my share of restless nights for things a lot less minor, from laundry to groceries.

It is so easy to worry about anything and everything, especially in our current society. I am sometimes envious of a bygone era, where the worries may have been more physically enduring, but they didn’t have the frantic stress of our technological chaotic society.

However, we don’t live in a different era, and we have stressors everyday that we have to handle. For most of us, life isn’t easy, but I also think that God doesn’t want us going through this life laden down with worries, dreading one moment to the next. We aren’t meant to live life that way. We can’t live life that way. It may not be easy, actually, often quite hard, but we have a loving God that wants us to seek Him throughout the easy times as well as the bad. We should have peace that surpasses all understanding, yet we often struggle with finding it, much less keeping it. So, the next time you’re lying awake stressing, try praying, or reading the Bible. Just talk to God, ask him for help, tell Him how you’re feeling, and don’t sugar coat it, be honest. He can handle it.

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.”
