What Are Your Intentions?

It is easy to get in the habit that you may start thinking of God as a genie in a bottle. God isn’t here to serve you, but you to serve Him. Yes, we are to come to Him with requests, but do a self check to see what your intentions are- Are they pure? Or are they of selfish and unrighteous intent? Ask God for guidance to help bring to light any evil or impure behavior or intentions we may be having. As humans, we are constantly fighting the flesh, that is part of living in a broken world. God doesn’t want you downtrodden, although we will have periods of trials. God always tells us that we are to have hope, not to fear, and not to despair, for He is always with us. Not just through the good times, but through all times.  When we don’t know what to pray, pray the Our Father prayer.

“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so on earth. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”

Matthew 6:9-13
