Aren’t they the same? The Bible reads about having joy in all things. Easier said than done, but joy is something lasting, something given to us from God that we can experience through both trials and triumphs. You may not be happy, but happiness is fleeting and will come and go depending on what is transpiring in your daily life.

In the Bible, there are many references to joy and many experiencing joy, although their experiences weren’t ones you would describe as joyful. Joy is a decision, a choice to follow God, regardless of the current circumstances. To keep the focus on Him isn't always easy, there are constant battles, demands to take your attention and focus it on other matters. How easy it can happen, we as adults often have the attention span of a five-year-old child. I know I do! That is why it is vital to constantly do self checks, are we listening to God or to Satan?

If you aren’t sure, keep praying, keep reading the Bible until you know.

“rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing stedfastly in prayer;”

Romans 12:12
